2016 Deer Meat Pole

A couple of nice bucks Steven......Looks like the thicket is paying off. I might have to do some hinge cutting of some trees in some of my bedding areas this spring. :idea:
 
Yesterday was a amazing day. My dad has overcome many hurdles to be able to get back into deer hunting. He has lost most of his eye sight in his right eye forcing him to learn how to shoot left handed and having a very difficult time walking at all in the dark. This was the first deer that I spotted and it just happened to be a shooter 5x5 and after 3 different attempts to get dad in a good shooting position he was able to put his buck down. I was very fortunate this year to harvest a archery bull and a very nice buck but yesterday by far was the highlight of my 2016 hunting season.

First week of November we packed in around 2 miles for an evening hunt. My first Indiana public ground buck.

That is an awesome buck, Ben! Congrats!
Nothing beats taken bucks from public land. I bet the pack out was fun. :train:
 
Here\'s a recap of the Ol\' Arky families 2016 deer season...

Oldest son has killed 2 bucks...

As for me I\'ve spent countless hours in my stand and haven\'t seen a legal buck since the 1st couple of days of muzzle loader season back in October... I\'m back at it again tomorrow or Wednesday after a brief rest and getting my wife\'s vehicle back running...

A little rundown of the pics. The first one is my buck. The next two are my son\'s and the next two are a friends. His name is Craig. There is a group of guys on here (my wife affectionately call them the \"Turks\") That know Ryan and Craig so that is why I posted them. I had an unfortunate experience exactly one week before Craig took his buck in the same stand.
