2016 Season Workout

Yesterday was a 6 mile hike with a 40lb pack in the mountains.

Today will be a chest workout, core, and cardio!

Late posting but yesterday I completed my AF PT test. Maxing out every component except the run. Less than 1 point shy of a 90. Now time to strap this pack on my back and hike my tail off.

Good for you Alan. Keep it going!

Did some hiking/scouting over the weekend ... then back to the usual routine this week. Need to start shooting more, but winds up to 50 mph at my place yesterday were making that a little difficult.

Nice bike Cliff - got couple of friends who ride Santa Cruz. Even had one who tried to take in her garage BEFORE removing from the roof rack!

My work outs pale in comparison to what\'s posted but I\'m consistent. During the week, 45-60 minutes on elliptical at a 15 incline and 5 resistance(keep bumping it up) twice a week and circuit weights twice a week. Weekends are generally long walks/hikes with my wife but I like the idea of loading up a pack super heavy for power hikes!

Got my weight down to 210 but that was before the 4th! Plan to get down close to 200 before season. Will give me lots of room to put on my winter fat!

Don\'t know if I was more impressed with the way the front shock held onto the bike rack and left the rest hanging(pun intended) or how sturdy one side of the Volvo roof was under can opener like pressure!

Now, go up to Boulder area and you\'ll find a Santa Cruz on a 78\' Subaru....life is all about perspective! :)

Two friends and I did an 18+ miler tonight with 7 others along on bikes just to support us, carrying water and Gatorade in back packs (along with some beer for themselves, of course). Who else does this on a Friday night??? This is small town, Iowa, folks and I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy such simple pleasures with such great friends.
