Mornings were Mid 30\'s. Got into an elk herd in the first 30 minutes. Cows, calves and Bulls were all talking. Wind was all wrong and could not get in close enough. Made a big loop to get around them but no dice.
Hunted from my treestand each day. Saw a 4 point bull high tailing it down hill...

After being in elk country each week last year here in Colorado, I think I prefer either the first 2 weeks or week 2 and 3.
Seems like the elk were more active earlier last year than the year...
