2016 Season Workout

Back and shoulders this morning...and shot a 40 target 3D shoot sunday afternoon after a 2.5 mile hike with 40# pack in the morning! Sore this morning at the office, but feels good!!

I was going to turn up the heat today and go for 10 minutes since I have gotten comfortable with 5 minutes... WELL it went ok up to 7 and now I have a new base :D :D and new goal off 10 minutes...

I know that don\'t sound like much to ya\'ll but it\'s alot better than it was... :dance2: :dance2:

worked, checked out the tractor some more, dug fence post holes by hand, shot bow, talked elk with the new partner..... :D

Yesterday was back and bis, cardio and 90 minutes of bow time!

Today will be chest and tris, cardio and more shooting. :D

Legs this morning...have the day off tomorrow so I am planning a 5 mile hike with weighted pack, and will hit the gym in the morning. Friday\'s I like to do one excercise from each muscle group. Saturday will do another short hike with weighted pack. Then Sunday shooting a 3D shoot....bring on September and the Mountains!!! :train:

I managed to keep up with Dan for 4 days turkey hunting. Even crawled a lot and felt great. No back pains. My knees ached one night a little but I guess 5 hours in cool mud on your knees might do that. time to get back at it. Come on September........

2 miles every morning working out with dumb bells along the way.

After 6 weeks weeks, Im really noticing a big difference

And eating A LOT BETTER too

LOTS OF CRAWLING!!!!!!!!! That was fun.

Way to get after it everyone! I\'m a bit of a fitness nut so I love reading the workout threads.

I like to do lots of different things so it never gets boring. Yesterday I did my kickboxing class, today I have a 6 mile run scheduled. I also just lift some days and next week will start doing an outdoor group workout with my Spartan team. I like to sign up for several events throughout the spring/summer to keep me motivated and my diet on track. This year besides the usual 8K\'s, 10K\'s, and half marathons, I\'ll be doing a Spartan Super near Chicago and my first ever marathon in Milwaukee. The marathon is in early Oct. a week after I get back from my annual archery elk hunt!

I\'m lucky to have a nearby gym run by a family that truly wants to help people get and stay fit. They have a gym full of state of the art equipment, a large fitness class room with heavy bags and all kinds of equipment for their \"Body Fit\" class, and an awesome \"free\" outdoor gym that anyone is welcome to use 24/7. They charge $1 to come in and lift, $3 for the Body Fit class, or $35 per month for everything. Great business run by great people!

If it wasn\'t for those mountains out west, I doubt I\'d have half the motivation and desire to stay fit year round that I do now. As I\'ve gotten older, I started to realize I\'m no longer training for next season....I\'m training for the next 20 seasons!

BTW, I\'m new to the forum....thanks to cnelk for steering me here. Looks like a great group!

I dont know what muscle groups I worked today doing stuff around my place.
I\'m sure they will tell me tomorrow.

Welcome to the site, Nick! We are glad to have you here. :upthumb:
I really like your outlook on working out and really like the idea of keeping it fun and exciting. No one likes boring.....
Working out should never be boring people, they should incorporate it in their daily routine and turn it into a life style!!!!
It seems like you have done that. :train:

Good luck on both of your Spartan race and first marathon.
I must say, that local gym near you is REALLY COOL!!!! That 24/7 gym needs to be in my backyard!
