2016 Season Workout

I added a walk this week wearing my new(er) boots and carrying 40 pound in my pack, and wearing hunting pants.

I consider myself in \"not bad shape\" but this did help get me closer to what I need for elk season.

I found out that my boots are \"ok\" but still need some break-in. No hot spots, though, so that\'s good. And they\'re quiet.

My pack held 40 pounds without trouble at all, and was really pretty comfortable, both uphill and downhill. I need to make a few mods, like carrying the weight a little higher, and adjusting the position of my knife and monocular on the waistband, but overall, I was pleased.

Did some back and bi\'s today :train: and will end the evening with 30 minutes of cardio. I\'m down 32 lbs of today.

What all are you guys adding to your pack to get your weight? Are you putting the gear in there you would be taking on the hunt, weights, sand bags??

I load it with everything I would be carrying on a hunt plus 40 lb. bags of sand. Either 1 or 2 bags depending on how far I plan to hike.

it was muggy and warm this morning, so my time sucked. but I stayed with my buddy who wasn\'t in as good of shape as he should of been.....
the last 2 weeks have been a frenzy, getting all of the small details worked out and put together! so, I wasn\'t able to train for it like I should have... but, its over and now I can relax and enjoy getting ready for elk season!

Congrats Gary!!! You must be feeling great on so many levels.
Now that it\'s over you can relax and think about hunting again :D

I AM excited to be able to think elk now!

Mountain biking. Did a big slow loop with a monster climb. Fell asleep at 9pm because of it.

I fill mine with soybeans  It is what I have available and I don\'t like using my gear. I have my sleeping pad lightly inflated and my sleeping bag hangs when not in use.

thank you! the race was pretty successful. i planned on and set a budget for 250 runners. i had 240 sign up. and we made money to boot instead of losing it, win win! I had plenty of positive feedback from the runners. I now have a good starting point to improve upon for next year!
with my new found time, I was able to shoot my bow last night with the wife and oldest boy!

I have 70 days left until season opener.
That\'s 10 weeks of hard work ahead of me!

It\'s amazing what someone can do in 10 weeks, so I plan on being on beast mode!!!

69 days 20 hours and 30 minutes till I head out. I will be bored driving on your first day of hunting. I expect play by play texts to help me survive the boredom. Now on your second day of hunting......I will probably be out of cell range :D :D :D
