2017 season what did you do today/workout thread....pt.3

I\'ve been thinking of hitting the cardio bikes here soon and throwing a pack on.
With NM turkey and shed hunting coming up, I want to make sure I\'m ready to just breeze through the mountains!

I subscribed to elk101, spend some time on google earth. Hit the gym, abs, legs, KB squats, deadlifts, KB presses. I\'m 5\'7\" 130#. Haven\'t varied +- 10 # in 15 years. I\'d love to gain 15# of muscle. I just don\'t know if it\'s possible.

I\'m getting a bone spur ground off my elbow in a couple weeks, so it will be legs for a while.

I\'ve been killing it and staying consistent with my running and calestetics.
I\'ve dropped 11 daddy \"sympathy\" lbs aka me being lazy during the pregnancy.

I\'m right back on track to where I was before and ready to kick it up a whole new level this year!

The last day of this squat everyday program is tomorrow, and this week is pretty rough. After tomorrow, my total squat movements for the week will be about 750. Its been an interesting experience, and all in all a good one. I feel almost as strong as the time I was 18 and getting paid to work out 6+ hours a day. I\'m going to do a repeat of this program and then switch my focus to endurance, flexibility and mobility with about 40-50 squats of some sort per day.

I did a 9 mile pace run yesterday at a 7:47 pace and then 19 miles of hills and concrete this morning. The legs feel amazingly good and feel like I\'m in about in the best running shape I\'ve ever been in. 8 weeks until the Med City Marathon!

That\'s a great pace for such a long run!!!! :upthumb:

Been working out ok but eating out of control for about 4 months. Buckling down on the diet and am going to try to just keep eating that way. Thanksgiving and Christmas crap food always sends me into a downward spiral. Doing Yoga and cardio and it has been good!

I have been doing my calf raises. I do them all the time. Sometimes while standing in line at a store. People probably think I\'m crazy :haha: . It has become a habit whenever I am standing still very long :D . I have worked on some lunges and doing some hiking. my legs should be good and have never let me down. My core is what I need to keep working on. I have to keep working out to strengthen my back and help minimize the pain of minor scoliosis and past abuse. Pushups and planks do great but I keep fighting shoulder injuries that limit that at all. Seeing the chiro today to get the right wing back in position to stop the popping and pain.

nick, med city as in Rochester? if so, I am doing the half!

ran another sprint triathalon. fairly mild, with 250M swim, 11 mile bike, 5k run.

bonus was that my 13 year old son ran it with me, which I thought was pretty cool!

til the little bugger beat me by 6 minutes overall! :help2:

bad part is, with him getting bigger/faster and me getting older/slower I\'ll never even have a chance at whipping him again.

first world problems. :)

Been working out with wife and daughter twice a week. Only one HDR each time. Son in law and I are finishing our basement and been workiking 10 hours a day on that. Worked 5 today. Will be done with the insulation tomorrow. No good son in law let me do it all. LOL. Need to drop 4 pounds and I will be there. :train: :train:

Yes sir! I believe there are 6 of us running, possibly 7. We need to meet up! We\'ll be there Sat and Sun night.

Had a long two weeks of running. Ran 10 on Saturday, then hopped on our bikes and did a beer and pizza ride....25 miles in some horrendous wind. Got up early Sunday morning and 3 of us did a hilly, windy 20 mile run...8:50 pace. 52 miles for the week.

Looking forward to an easier \"step back\" recovery week this week.

Saw your post on fb, Shane...it\'s hell getting old but how lucky you are to have your son to compete with! :upthumb:

Got to spend some time in the mountains over the weekend chasing turkeys. Put a bunch of miles on the boots. Although I\'m in the best shape I\'ve been in for a long time, my legs were still a little sore. I think I\'m going to start adding some stretching to my routine to try to loosen the muscles up a bit and see if that helps.

i really need the rain to stop.

i put air in my bike tires. time to start riding.

I am ready to start riding too. Now that the gravel roads are not mud. I have a good hill at the end of my driveway where it meets the road. The legs get a good burn on going up that thing. I have walked it with the weighted pack and it is much easier than biking. Biking hills is a great workout. :upthumb:

10 miler at a 7:42 pace on Saturday. 20 miles this morning. 54 miles for the week.

Only 1 more 20 miler to do before Med City and I am so ready to be done with marathon training!

preserving my knees for now. doing hill climbs on my mtn bike. really red-lining my heartrate on some of the big long climbs. staying out of my granny gear the entire way. pisses me off that young kids kind of pedal past me with zero effort.

took a while, but yesterday i made the entire time without putting my feet on the ground..usually accompanied by my forehead laying on the handle bars. :)

i got several months to get my cardio back in place. i hate being the slowest mountain hunter/climber.
