i worked with a guy a long time ago that said moose was on his hit list, until, he lived in alaska and a buddy ask for his help topack one out. he said every step was in muck ankle deep. said it made elk packing look easy, so he never went. not saying all is like that, but im sure its bad.

Your coworker was very right.
Anyone wanting to do an Alaska moose hunt should first pack 2 elk out 5 miles deep, then multiply that experience by 10.

Just rescheduled my return flight.

yep, thats exactly what he said. not to change the subject or life of this thread, but he was killed later that year falling out of a tree stand without a belt on. but back to moose.

After many months of preparation, the to depart had arrived!

Sept 9, 2016

On Friday, I flew to Seattle and then to Anchorage, arriving there about 6pm

Saturday monring, we went thru the rest of the gear, and packed up the truck to travel north to the moose area.

Some beautiful country for sure!

This is some glacier along the hwy

We had a long drive to the north so it was nice to take pics along the way

The terrain changes a lot as you travel thru it

That afternoon, we saw 3 moose come out along the road, but no chance for pics

It was encouraging tho!

Saturday evening, we arrived at the lake where we were scheduled to fly out Sunday morning.

Needless to say, I was pretty excited!
